Blame It On The Lost Boys
I think I can trace my obsession with vampires (yes, I watch/watched “Buffy”, “Angel”, “Moonlight”, etc. on television) back to 1987 when I saw The Lost Boys for the first time (the first of many, I might add).
Don’t get me wrong–I wasn’t goth or anything (not that there’s anything wrong with goth!), but this was in the days before goth, so I was just a teen that perferred entertainment with bite.
Not only did I love that The Lost Boys was set in Santa Cruz/”Santa Carla”, which I was obsessed with in high school, but also there were the Boys…oh, the boys.
Cute little Corey Haim, young and mysterious Jason Patric, brooding and fangy Keifer Sutherland–what’s not to like?
Apparently the finishing touches are being put on a sequel, Lost Boys: The Tribe, and while at this point the subject matter has been a bit overexposed, I for one am looking forward to catching up with the Boys.
