Parenthood: A Look At Real Family

In 1989, Ron Howard brought an amazing ensemble film, Parenthood, to the big screen.
In doing so, Howard created a family com-dram that pushed all the right buttons with anyone who has ever been in a family (um, pretty much everyone).
From high and low parental expectations, to family hierarchies, to single parenting and meddling parenting, plus more, Parenthood looked at the lives of one large family spanning three generations.
The film immediately struck a chord with moviegoers, most of whom could relate to at least one sub-plot of the film, if not more.
Parenthood brought together such talents as Steve Martin, Dianne Wiest, Mary Steenburgen, Jason Robards, Rick Moranis, Martha Plimpton, Keanu Reeves, Harley Jane Kozak and Joaquin Phoenix, as well as many others, all of whom fit together to create a moving, funny and spot-on picture of what family life is like, warts and all.
